I hate Alabama but I have to say the best player I've seen live was Derrick Thomas.....he was a beast.

the one game I saw Cecil Collins play in was enough for me. He had the talent to be the greatest back in SEC history. Better than Bo, better than Hershel. He was scary good. Luckily, he was a social deviant.

my best claim to fame was in 1982 when Ole Miss played Alabama in Jackson, my best friend who was one year ahead of me in school was being recruited by Alabama got me on the side line with the bear for the game. Yes I stood 15 feet from the Bear during an Alabama football game.

1. In the NFL it was Earl Campbell. 2nd would be Jim Brown. A close 3rd is Barry Sanders at his peak.

2. In high school, it was Cedric Benson. Midland Lee High School won two consecutive State 5A Championships with him at tailback and he rushed for over 3000 yards each year. I saw almost every game from the sidelines.

3. In college, it was Barry Sanders' 1988 season.

The fact that I got to start at all in High School football is wonder for the ages. I had all the tools- just lacked size, speed, strength, and talent.

Maybe you need to work on your sarcasm delivery just a little bit.

On this board, a defensive posture rules, the offensive game is still in the works, and I'm sure your aware that an offensive post is very complicated and difficult to execute on a message board and most posters just can't handle it. I'm thinking that in 3 or 4 more years SPS will develop what will be known on the interweb as the "West Coast Post" offensive style.

Oh, if it's only one make it Emmit Smith.

Manning - In his MVP year where he threw 49 TDs to break the record. He was a machine. Honorable NFL mention has to go to Brett Favre

Jacob Hester - He's just a helluva ball playa. Actually for college, one of the best players I ever saw that accomplished jackshit was Cecil the Diesel Collins. If anyone got to see him play in person, it was unreal. I would have to say watching JaMarcus Russell make some of the throws he made in person were mind boggling as well.

My choice is Michael Vick. I saw him play and was amazed at how fast he was.
