and the actual beginning of the spiral into football hell.
Its amazing that how miserable it was for the Memphis game at the start and Arkansas at near the end. I'll never forget those two games. Should have won that game, still PO that we didn't.

and it was Cold as Hell. Funny thing, we could have scored at the end of regulation, but played for a field goal to win. Then we kick the Field Goal into the
centers butt!@##@!# Even worse, we totally dominated the game and should have won 31-0

That was the day it all began to fade away to where we are right now. Arkansas beat us with a 4th string running back. It was snowing/sleeting and by the end
of the game, just a cold rain. We gave away the SEC West that day and a rematch against Florida. The thing that I remeber the most is that we had a chance to
win it in regulation. Discenzo makes a huge reception and run. He is hurt and gets hurt worse on the play, pretty much ending his year. We have a chip shot of
a field goal to win. The long snapper hikes the ball by rolling it to the holder. The kick hit the center in the ass, and we lose in overtime. Now life sucks,
I guess we die now. Happy holidays. I going to drink and wait for the apocalypse. Ole Miss still sucks though!

Much more miserable than the Snow Bowl, because I wasn't prepared for it.

I was there, but you're wrong.... | #24

....the actual beginning of the end was the LSU game earlier that year in Baton Rouge, where we let them off the hook. That was when Joe Lee's defense
started falling off.

I agree. I was at that game and it was definitely the beginning of the end. | #25
|
I'm still pissed about the TD they gave LSU when their player clearly fumbled through the end zone from the 5-yard line, but the fact is we blew 2 14-point
leads in that game.

I was there as well. Everything that happened has pretty much been covered. Except, in Dontae's defense, Williamson missed a block on the guy that made the
tackle to stop Dontae short. He makes the block. Dontae scores. None the less, we should have never been in that situation. How do you whip Florida, Auburn,
and Alabama at home but let a bad Arkansas team whip your ass?
Oh, at their stadium in Fayettville, they have that game memorialized in the east concourse with a picture of the last play and a nice little write up about how Holmes ran all over us and they spoiled the day for us. M*****F***** I hate them. Saturday will be a load of fun when we roll over and play dead for them AGAIN. F*** move them up the schedule. |

Still can't feel my legs. As I left I looked down into the stands. They were empty except for a fat old man who sat alone with his cowbell crying

I was there as well. Parents got some tickets on the West side under the second deck. | #29

I was out of the rain/snow/sleet but it was still cold as shit and what a way to end the game. I saw some old guy just sit there and destroy his cowbell
after the game on his seat.

sitting on my bookshelf. Threw it down on the concrete steps in the student section when Dontae couldn't punch it into the endzone on 4 tries up the
middle.

Seems like I heard the refs wouldn't allow the ball to be changed to a dry one | #31
|
The snap was complete shit, I think the snapper couldn't even grip the ball it was so wet. Westerfield never missed crap like that. Carlson would
probably benefit from just watching his old tapes to see how an actual kicker kicks.

Yeah, I remember Williamson runs right between 2 defenders and doesn't even touch one | #32

I will give Dontae credit for that year. He was decent. He was the offense for the Snow Bowl. He could have been good if he wasn't a crackhead.

I was listening to Eli Gold call the Iron Bowl b/c we needed Auburn to win and create the 3 way tie to get us to Atlanta. I chunked my radio out of the stadium
when we got stopped on 4th down.

I was there with my son Ross who was 12 at the time. We had a great time tailgating with really good friends and joked that it felt like it might snow. You
know it never snows in November in Mississippi. We were fine till the snow and sleet changed to rain, then we both got cold as I have ever been. Ross was a
trooper and stuck it out right to the bitter end. I was horse from yelling at JWS to run the damned ball in to win and not kick it in that slush. D. Miller was
a workhorse that game and tried to single-handedly win it himself. I wish we had another D. Miller or two on the team right now.
We have the best government that money can buy.

That was one of two games where the weather has claimed the life of my cell phone.... | #36
|
....I lost a nice Nokia 6161 at that game, and I lost a Nokia 6340i when it started raining at the very end of the Houston game in 2003.
Good thing I get such a good deal on cell phones.

last year I bought season tix. We lost to a pitiful UPig team (that actually did improve enough to make a bowl), Auburn won the SECW in their own version of
the Ice Bowl, looked like the Rebs had UG on the ropes (didn't know they had lost til the next morning), & hanging chads were the thing down in
Florida.

Aside from the weather, the thing I remember most about that game was.... | #39
|
Arkansas changing defensive coordinators the week before the game. John Thompson had been Co-Defensive Coordinator, but Nutt gave total control of the defense
to Thompson the week before they played us. They tried to keep it under raps, but our Clarion Ledger beatr write Seacou (sp?) Smith got wind of it somehow and
alerted our coaches. Not sure how big of a difference it made, but I remember they had all kinds of strange defensive fronts/sets, and they pretty much shut
down our running game, which was one of the best in the SEC that year.
