Jackie Sherrill had 27 open dates in his career at MSU. (Anyone remember why we had three in 1997?)
Of those 27, he followed with a win 17 times. Of the ten loses, none came to a team that ended the year with a worse record than we had. Going into an open date, he only won 11 games. Of those 11, only three were to a team with a better record (Auburn in '97, Auburn in '00, and Memphis in '01). |
