As far as the point system- whatever. It's not going to affect me or my seat on the metal folding chair by the horn at the Hump. Don't give a crap.
As far as taunting- this is a very difficult thing to master. And I suspect that the Rowdies aren't very good at it. I can't really fault them for that, as heckling is an art, and not very many people are good at it.
You have to understand the rules of heckling, and you have to have supreme confidence in your comedy. You don't want to heckle the entire game. You have to pick and choose your spots. The reason is because A. no one this side of Eddie Murphy can be that funny for that long and B. no matter how funny you are, people paid to see a game, not you. You will wear thin very quickly. You have to be like a panther, and know when to strike. Moderation is a good thing for heckling.
Rule 2 is you can below the belt, but not too far. Making fun of someone's dead ___ is too far. Making fun of someone that punched a cabbie is OK and fair game.
Rule 3 is do your research and know the players. This means facebook and using school websites. It's stalkerish, but shit heckling is a hobby, and it's not like you're out to kill anyone.
Rule 4 is to not be afraid to tell someone that tells you to be classy to <17> off. Since that person is likely Baptist and you don't want to start a fight and get kicked out because you knocked someone's wig off of their head with a knuckle sandwich, plus get the team a techinical foul because Gerald Boudreaux saw a wig come flying on the floor and thought someone threw it at him for yet another shitty call, thus hurting the team, you can also make fun of them. Since they are in the BSU and wearing a wig with a fat chick, it shouldn't be too difficult to do. It should also be pretty easy to make fun of that person if it's Bobby Tomlinson as well.
Rule 5 Sarcasm works well and is very versatile. Things like "Nice shot Randy", "That's a new SEC record for airballs for Randy Stewart" are subtle and usually work well.
Rule 6 Don't try to hard. When you force comedy, it usually doesn't come out well. When in doubt, keep it to yourself.
Hopefully this will help the militants out there.
