It gives one reason for hope at the very least.

Why we may be able to move the ball against Bama: |

Pardon my wool for a moment. This is my Super Bowl week.

I will agree (a little) | #1
|
I will get bashed for this just like I did last week, but I think that our toughest offense to defend is the Relf - Dixon combo. The reason being that
linebackers have to key on Dixon, leaving a weak side safety (or outside linebacker) and a defensive end to cover the Relf pull. That safety also has to cover
the slot receiver or tight end leaving them hopefully 8-10 yards down field. If the defensive end does bite on Dixon, then Relf pulls and gains yardage. If
the DE does not bite on Dixon, then the cutback is there for big yards. Now, Bama can sell out to stop this, but that leaves the slot or tight end wide open
on a dump route (assuming Relf can throw that).
If you can't tell, I believe that Relf is our key to this game. Lee plays his little heart out, but he just does not have the skill set to compete against D-2 talent much less Alabama. I realize that Relf cant throw for shit, but Lee is not much better (4 touchdowns to 11 picks) The reason I agree with your video presentation, is that both of those teams had a QB who was a threat with his legs and could see over the line. |

What about the fact that both of those teams run the exact same offense we run. Did you think about that??? Mullen also coached both of those
quarterbacks!!!

And the fact that Alabama | #3
|
has not played a team this year that runs that type of offense- yet. The closest team I can think of is Virginia Tech, which put 24 on the board against them
at a neutral site.
For whatever that's worth. |

I agree with you about Relf... | #4

Tyson plays hard, but I am afraid that Alabama's D will force him into making mistake after mistake.

I'm more worried... | #5 | ||
|
...about our ability to stop them than anything else. But that's just me. Anyone who's optimistic about our defense this weekend must've missed
Kentucky ramming it down our throats.

Yea I'm most worried about Ingram running all the 17 over us. | #6

We are going to have to sell out against the run | #8
|
and hope we dial up the blitz at the right times in order to keep McElroy out of rhythm, and then just pray for some costly turnovers.

Ky Ramming what ? | #9 | ||

Ky had 301 yards against Bama, and 20 points
Ky had 308 yards against MSU and 24 points What was that again? |

UK generally has a good Offense, | #11

just saying what they did against us was not extra special...did the exact same thing to Bama.

you totally missed the point... | #12
|
...once Kentucky realized they could run the ball on us, they did it at 6-8 yards a clip. If we had trouble stopping a one-dimensional Kentucky offense, how
much more difficult will it be to stop Alabama? Kentucky probably doesn't have an offensive player that would start at Alabama.

Yeah, I guess I did totally miss the point, KY scored 7 points in the 2nd half against us, | #13

It would have helped | #14
|
if we didn't play a zone for a lot of the second half. And UK's offense is not one dimensional.
And if I remember correctly, on their last drive, they were throwing the ball a good bit against us. And yes, Randall Cobb could start for Alabama. |

and you are still failing at this | #15

Kentucky had 200 yards rushing against us. How much better offensively is Alabama?
Do I need to draw you a picture? "Couple that with no way the SEC doesnt get 3 teams in the Tourney- I still maintain that the SEC gets 4...Slive heading up the committee should all but make 4 happen..." -Peaches, 3/13 |

wait... | #16 | ||
|
...Kentucky was starting a freshman QB whose previous high passing game at that point was 31 yards.
The fact that we were running that zone solidifies my point. I predict we'll see it at times on Saturday too. And Randall Cobb is a fine player. But who would he send to the bench at Alabama? Jones? Maze? Arenas? Ingram? I didn't think so. If you couldn't score against FL, what makes you think you can score against Alabama?
Im not being an ass, Im just trying to figure out what you think you have seen that makes you think this. |

|

Todd4State |
That's easy- Maze | #18 | ||
|
Cobb has as many receiving yards as Maze and twice as many TD's as WR while splitting time between WR/RB/QB/KR/PR for UK. Cobb is simply a better player,
and if Bama had him he would make Julio Jones and Ingram even more dangerous than they are. There's a reason why Julio Jones has been kept in check for
much of the year. Part of it is because he is always up against the other teams top CB. Plus, you throw in a guy with Cobb's versatility to that offense
they may not have to have as much help from the replay guy.
As far as the defense against UK, I thought the effort was a little lacking at times. I know they can play better, and I'm hoping a jacked up home crowd will help them out. If they can contain Yahweh Tebow and dare I say Charles Scott, they are capable of containing Mark Ingram. |

Here's the problem with your analysis | #19
|
Yes, defenses have a tough time when Relf first enters the game. For one thing, he is such a change of pace from Lee. For another, he is a good runner, and
they start off honoring the optional pitch man. However, after Relf keeps it 4 straight time, not even considering pitching it to the RB, the defense figures
out that he will run it everytime. Also, they realize he won't throw it so they don't really have to honor our attempt to spread the field as they do
with Lee. Laugh at Lee all you want to, but Relf can't make the pass Lee did to Wilder against UK. As long as Lee is smarter, can read the defense better,
can actually make some passes for big plays, etc, he will and should start. Relf will play sparingly, and I stress sparingly.
