What is up with Arkansas basketball lately? |

5 players suspended. Walsh and Fortson out indefinitely. I have a feeling that Pelphrey may be done unless he makes the NCAAs. Poor perfromance on the court
and problems off the court are not a good combination.

they still have a team? | #1

seriously though: Pelphrey has lost control of that team.. it's gotten ridiculous. I thought he was a good coach with stan heath's players, but last
years team was a complete debacle..

Pelphrey has looked like he is out of his league... | #2

His first season he inherited a fairly talented UPIG team and they didn't do sh!t.
I still don't see why Arkansas hired him, they are one of the top jobs in the SEC, at least they should be with their facilities and fan support. Im not saying they are UK, but they are a top 15 program, and their facilities are Top 10 in the country. The last few years, they have been a mediocre SEC team. It shouldn't happen.

I think he is busy trying to figure out how Bama has passed LSU... | #7

Miles is 1-2 against Saban, and if you were using a 5K run as an analogy, Miles had a 3K head start against Saban when Saban was hired, and now not only has
Saban passed him, but the margin is widening.
Great call going for 2 points there, Jim Haslett would be proud. Im assuming he is ready to admit that Saban is a better coach. It shouldn't be close at this point. The talent difference at LSU/AL in 2006 when Saban was hired at Bama was ridiculous. Now three years, Saban has a winning record over LSU, including a win at Baton Rouge. |

I could be in the wrong thread.
I thought Dawg at Auburn called out C34, and I just like to remind C34 that he honestly thought Miles was a better coach than Saban. He probably still thinks that is the case. |

I think they could have done better with their money and history... | #10

But I thought Pelphrey would do a lot better then he has. I saw his South Alabama teams play a few times and thought he did a good job with that program. He
built them up after a few terrible years. They always gave MSU a hard time when we played them and they never had the same type talent.
Personally, I think it has to do with the University more then anything. Something in the water... |

OMlawdog wrote: Saban has taken the lead for now, no doubt...Miles was killed by losing Perilloux, and only he can be blamed for his shitty defensive hire last season. But he has righted the ship, and hired a very good DC. Next season will be LSU's to win the West, and if they dont, then you can bitch. But getting on Miles for winning 10 games this season like he is going to do is ridiculous. Also, it speaks volumes that Saban got the schedule switched when he got hired to have the week off before the LSU game every year. That tells you what he thinks of Miles. Talent difference was ridiculous? John Parker Wilson, Andre Smith, Kenneth Darby, Antoine Caldwell, Glenn Coffee, Wallace Gillberry, and Rashad Johnson who are in the NFL now disagree...not to mention the 4 or 5 other NFL guys that graduated right before Saban got there. Demeco Ryans ring a bell? Shula didnt have a talent problem, he just sucked as a coach. Saying Bammer didnt have talent has pretty much shown you to be the idiot you are. Saban has ridden the coattails of Mike Shula talent

I started a thread about Pelphrey, OMlaw starts into a rant about Saban and Miles with no mention of Pelphrey, and Coach jumps in talking about Saban and Miles
with still no mention of Pelphrey. Is this not why we have titles to threads? I think I will start a thread entitled "Why Ole Miss sucks" and then
proceed to talk about Hungarian cabinet making.

Now you are a proponent of suspensions over running the bleachers? Did you not crawl Stansbury's ass all last year about punishing Kodi by taking away his
PT? Correct me if I am wrong here.

Alcorn St...i mean come on....and I didnt say "running bleachers" was the way to go...I dont prefer suspensions, I like to make people suffer
(nothing like getting them up at 5am for some good ol punishment)- but sometimes they are necessary- the chick did cry rape afterall, and even though she was
full of shit according to the DA, from a public perception, a small suspension is warranted...Perception trumps reality more times than not
I crawled Stansbury's ass for taking away Kodi's playing time for no reason. It wasnt like Kodi raped a cheerleader or robbed a liquor store..Stansbury put one of his best players on the bench to go to a smaller line-up...it helped short-term, but as we saw, in the long run- Augustus needs to be on the floor for us...

I disagree with you Coach. Stansbury never benched Kodi because he wanted to go to a small lineup. Stansbury had his reasons and most of them were
disciplinary and not because he suddenly wanted us to shoot 30 threes a game. History shows that is not Stansbury's style to go small unless absolutely
necessary.
