is the new sound system. I am really curious to see how that will sound.
And Mr. Byrne, if you can, move the band to the endzone bleachers.

Sound should be great... | #1

it will be subbed out to Pro Sound, and those guys know their shit. It is amazing how loud those speakers get.

they may be loud.............. | #2

but will we use them is the question. I remember back in the late 90s, we'd crank up what we had and it sounded pretty good.. It was loud anyway. Then
came the complaints and we turned it down to where you can barely hear it.
It reamins to be seen how Byrne will respond. |

+1 for ronny's archive and no capitalization

Everyone could hear them if they were moved there... | #5

I never understood why we didn't do this once there was "permanent" seating in the endzone.

i agree as well.... the band needs to be moved. right smack in the center of the endzone bleachers. that way they can be heard (and seen) throughout the
entire stadium

Also, believe it or not, supposedly there are SEC rules on how close the band can be to the field, and believe it or not, our band is supposedly too close to the field as it is, but it's overlooked because of our stadium design. Once again, nevermind that the band's seating arrangement could be re-arranged. |

It's great to get a new sound system. The question I've..... | #9
|
been thinking about is will it make it harder to hear in the M-club building. I'll admit I have no clue where the locker rooms are in there. I just hope we
don't have to keep it turned down all during pre-game and halftime on account of not being able to hear in there. It should be a non-issue though since the
speakers will be facing the rest of the stadium.

I think it's acoustics | #10

Now bear with me... The concrete actually does a lot to project the sound. Where the band is at in the stadium actually makes a big difference. For example,
Alabama's band is stuck back in a corner of their stadium, with an overhang above them, so it basically works like a megaphone, and they sound really loud.
If you hear them during their halftime show it's not nearly as loud.
Maybe they won't put the band there because then all the sound would scatter and you wouldn't be able to hear them. So I guess the solution is bowl the endzone. |

You're right about the concrete | #11
|
but when a band is on the field and they are spread out over a wider area, they are not going to be as loud as they are when they are all bunched together.

Has anyone ever noticed that when... | #12

ole miss plays in vegas, they put their band in the west side upper deck and it sounds just like they are playing somewhere on the East side. I guess its the
way the sound bounces off...its the strangest thing.
