Which one(s) would you immediately eliminate?

Equestrian. Specifically the event where the horse just prances around and they are judged on style.
If we're talking events where the human is the "athlete", I'd say synchronized swimming or speedwalking would have to go first. |

Baseball, and it's going to happen anyway. | #5

As stupid as some of the other sports are, at least they are competions among the best in the world. Baseball, as it stands, is not. Therefore I don't
think it belongs in the Olympics.

I think baseball should stay | #7

You are right that currently the best in the world do not compete, but that was also the case before the basketball Dream Team, and was the case in ice hockey until a few years ago. Baseball has been slow to follow those sports lead, but baseball is doing things to continue to remain popular and internationalize itself- see the World Baseball Classic. There may come a day when the Major Leaguers go ahead and take the leap for a couple of weeks and participate, although MLB's biggest gripes are: the Olympics are during the pennant race, the potential for players to get hurt- which has not been helped with Cuba and China beaning players left and right, and the length of the season. However, if you cut baseball totally out of the Olympics, you are totally eliminating the possibility that the Big Leaguers will ever play. |

anybody know how Brittney Reese of Gulfport did in long jump today? Also wondering about the men's sailing team from the coast.
Edited: She had the longest qualifying jump 6.87. Not sure when the medal round dance starts.

I don't mind the badminton. At least the shuttlecock action is fast-paced, | #9

There's a stick (or a racquet), a ball (the birdie), and there are no judges deciding which Asian will win. It's a relatively pure sport.
