Themain event this year will be Cam vs. LSU's defense...while Bama is better balanced overall, I think LSU has the best defense in the SEC. I will be rooting for the Tigers in that game.

to build a case for a Heisman campaign just as much as Mallett. There are 5 impact players in the SEC this year and you can rank them however you feel.

Cam Newton, Patrick Peterson, Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Ryan Mallett

he's Auburn's rented mule. He does everything for them. How many TDs has he not accounted for this year for them?

maybe Brantley, he seems like a Ecstasy kind of guy, nervous.

Those picks at the end were pretty bad. He's a great, great talent who on the whole is incredible, but he's played terribly in big games. I know he threw for big yards yesterday, but he lost the game for them as well.

I still think it's Ingram's to lose this year at the pace he's going since he's been back. Michigan's QB is getting incredible love right now. If Arky wins the West on Mallett's arm, then he will be in the discussion. But you are right...he threw some bad INT's yesterday

but if it was the last game of the year then yes, he would've lost it. Lots of games left, and Arky is still in it for the time being.

Auburn is a top 15 team with that guy. His dad's point, inartfully stated as it was, is simply that the would be surrounded by better talent at AU. Do you disagree?

if you watched the rest of the game, the defense played well, the special teams played well, and LSU ran the ball effectively. Every team in the top 6 below LSU has serious issues to deal with.

Newton is the difference maker for them.

jackstefano
09-26-2010, 01:39 PM
I don't know for sure what AU would be without him. That's why I only commented that y'all would be 3-1 with him. Make no mistake, they've recruited well down there and they've got a good team generally. But yeah, as the games have played out (Clemson going up big, Newton leading AU back; Newton coming up large against SC) you're probably right.

*

The QB situation is awful at LSU. LSU is one player away from making a run. I said it at the beginning of the year and I'm truly standing by that. Anyone watching LSU can see that.

2) Florida
3) Arkansas
4) LSU
5) Auburn

to Patrick Peterson. He's going to set a precedent as the "next generation" of cornerback. Built like a safety, WR speed, incredible ball skills. LSU @ Bama last year, he made an interception (that the refs 17-d him out of) that was beyond spectacular. All by himself, he is a game changer.
