    Rogers isnít the problemÖ

76% completion, 375 yards, 3 TDs and 1 pick. We’ll take that every day from a young QB.

He still has some growing to do, but he’s down the list of issues right now.

I agree. He played a decent game. Our wide receivers let him down several times today dropping what they should have caught.

Will and OL played good enough to win today. But special teams basically lost this game today.

    No thanks
We're getting all out of a 19 year old SEC QB you can expect. Recruiting has been atrocious.

And if itís not the special teams, itís big plays allowed by the D. Max Johnson averaged 25 yards a completion in the 2H. That was the ball game.

So just bring back Dak? Is that what people expect our QBs to play like?

He did enough to manage a game. like itís not his fault we lost. We lost because we make dumb ass plays. Blown coverage, a massive mistake on special teams, and a lot of little mistakes that add up.

with that said, we have to have a 5 star nfl type QB to make this offense work like itís supposed to. Right now itís a game management type offense. Thatís not good enough.
Screw every single one of the basketball haters!

#54 needs to lose his scholarship. No way somebody does something that stupid and did well enough on the ACT to be in school.

Iíve watched every State game this year. Rogers does some really nice things. Seems like a good kid. I hate when message board posters name-call a college kid whoís trying hard. Itís stupid. You think heís not trying to win?

With that said, his arm strength is lacking. Thatís important not just for deep throws down the field, but to be able to get throws into tight windows. When I was playing high school sports, I didnít have the strongest arm either. Unfortunately, I donít think thereís much that can be done about that. At least I never had much success with improving that.

Dak in college wouldnít do well in this type of offense. This is a pass first offense. Dak was a decent passer, but not elite. In order for this offense to work, the QB has to be an elite passer with a great arm.

Those stats are good for a non-Air Raid QB. Given his opportunities to make plays and his inability to see the field and execute quickly, he is the problem. Graham Harrell or Kliff Kingsbury or a competent Air Raid QB throws for 400-500 yards today. Heís still young but he needs to be improving more quickly

Watch the game instead of the stats and you'll see different. Or, if you want to look at stats, we're averaging 15.5 pts per game through the 1st 3 quarters. Stat padding when you are down 20pts is very misleading.

There a pretty good Sardis Mississippi QB named Jefferson playing for Arkansas right now...beating Texas A&M right now. Admittedly Arkansas is not running our dumbass Air Raid system, but KJ Jefferson is physically and skill wise a very Dak / Cam Newton QB...and he is a Mississippi guy.

Only scoring 3 points in the first half is not "good enough to win"

Completion % isnít a good stat to consider. Those dumps to the rb is as good as giving a clean handoff yet that is where is good % comes from. Lack of commanding the offense. Lack of awareness when there is urgency etc and not seeing the open man at the right time is his issues. Our rbs are getting injured with those dumps because itís obvious after a few sec that is where he is going.

We have mediocre talent, average coaching. Looks like we have returned to the mid 80ís. AD is comparable to Larry Templeton. I suspect we will have one winning season with Leach as coach and then he will be fired or step down.

Those numbers do not take into account the number of times we had receivers open 10-20 yards downfield and he checked down short. We had another 100-150 yards that were missed because he didnít/canít make the open throws that are there.

He didnít cost us the game, and there was a bunch of mistakes to go around, but he sure didnít make all the passes a QB with a plus arm could make.

When that is your whole offense it's not good enough and when it mostly comes in 4th quarter playing catch up. He is part of the issue. Poor decision making early in the game and not making throws he should have made.
The other part is poor execution by several players and poor coaching for not teaching the players better. The other is boneheaded play calling snd strategy until we are 20 points down. We started tempo and abandoned it after a careless fumble. Leach looked like he was on vacation the last two games. Didn't challenge last week does this week when it cost him the timeout. And just cook manage my as a whole terrible. Not guys by him or this offense and the defense plays well but then blows it on big plays.

It also doesn’t take into account some big drops down the field from Walley and company. Rogers will continue to grow. He has a very bright future with us.

It’s foolish to look at this game and think Rogers going for 375 instead of 400 was a bigger issue than the massive blown assignments on defense, the Heath fumble, the missed FG, the awful personal foul on that punt, etc.

That pass to Walley was terribly located. Should he have caught it? Probably but he had to turn his entire body.

yes he is the biggest problem on offense

good kid, would be a good backup but unfortunately he does not have the arm, field vision, pocket presence or mobility to be a P5 starter let alone run the air raid. This is the first time in Leachs career he hasnít had a serviceable QB and itís killing the offense.

Umm there are a hundred 19 year olds that can throw it further than 25 yards and see the field.

There were at least 12 different gaffes that, if any one of them didn’t happen, we might have won the game or at very least sent it to OT.

    1) Rogers INT on the sideline
    2) Heath fumble on the opening drive
    3) 0 whiffing on a wide open sack that led to LSU’s first TD on 3rd down.
    4) Safeties playing out of position and letting Boute behind them on long TD
    5) Entire defensive breakdown with the Palmer kid getting 20 yards behind everybody.
    6) Awful playcall on 3rd and Goal from the 3 to run laterally with Marks
    7) Missed PI call on LSU DB on 2nd down which would have given us 1st and Goal (before the missed FG)
8 - Heath not going up to catch a decent ball from Rogers in the back of the end zone (also before missed FG)
    9) The missed chip shot FG
    10) The leaping the shield penalty
    11) Leach burning TO’s on offense instead of either going fast or spiking it on our last drive.
    12) The bad challenge of the onside kick which cost us another timeout.

Of those 12 things, Rogers was responsible for only one of them. So, I tend to agree with your statement.

Compare that to LSU, also. What was their worst mistake today….the long pick that Forbes got….which might as well have been a punt? They basically won just from playing a clean game and not doing anything stupid.

How do we have fans bragging about completion % when we throw everything less than 3 yards

Heís biggest issue right now is an inability or unwillingness to push the ball down field while the game is still close. In every game that we got down big heís started slinging it and the offense has moved the ball like I/we expect the mike leach offense to work. And it canít be because teams start playing conservative once they have a big lead because everyone comes out in prevent from the opening snap.

We arenít good enough to engineer 12-15 play drives every time. Yes his arm strength is limited but he can make the throws that he needs to make at this level. It was nice to see him tuck it and run when the play wasnít there today too.

So we just need Rogers to be one of the best passers in the nation, a Heisman finalist, player of the year, etc.

Note he needs to do that without a Michael Crabtree / best WR in the nation.

My section started watching the receivers down field. We had receivers open (sometimes wide open) down field on nearly every ball Will checked down into triple coverage. He is absolutely part of the problem.
