Setting the sex jokes aside, this game is enthralling, particularly with online play. You don't have to swing the wiimote exactly like a golf club but perfecting your swing arc is still pretty challenging. The 2011 version is supposed to have an expert mode in which the movement of the wiimote will have to be much more similar to a real club.

I have wasted countless hours on this game.

followed in a close second by Tecmo Super Bowl. Every other sports game pales in comparison.

Nothing was better than beating the Lovely Ladies in Baseball Stars so that my team, The George Bretts, could use the cash earnings on new prospects. Then without fail after building a dynasty, I would forget to hold reset while pushing the power button and have to start all over.

It had features that weren't seen in other baseball games until a decade later. Sort of a prototype for the "dynasty" systems we take for granted in modern sports games.

Football games have always been the best sports games to me. Hell, I even like the old Atari football with the 3 man teams that were either orange or white and the football was a blue square.

But, really, not sure how you can beat Tecmo Super Bowl for the original Nintendo.

I remember the "league" that they had in Duggar Hall my freshman year. If you didn't show up, you were at the mercy of the computer player to see if you won or lost. I pity those who had the Buccaneers.

I burned a lot of time playing this game . . . even some in the last year thanks to the glory that are emulators.

Good call. There is a bar here in Southaven that has an original nintendo hooked up to a 42" flat screen that has 2 games. R.B.I. Baseball and Tecmo Bowl.

I was a huge fan of Bases Loaded II. One of the most realistic baseball gamesever made- I would probably still play it today if I could get my Nintendo to work.... and if I could find the game.

Baseball Stars was a close second.

We used to put a chair in front of use when doing the jumping competitions. But you had to be careful to not jump too high or it would know you were cheating. Also would get on our knees & hit the mat with our fists for the 100m race.

also, having eight people running in place on one mat was awesomely fun at the time... pretty ghey looking back at it now but we were about 10 years old so what did we know

It was IN TENTS when we popped that in. Almost came to blows several times. Clemson was dirty with the James Davis/CJ Spiller combo.

Big fan of old school games, too, but they were before my time and so I have waged no serious battles on those.

I respect goldeneye for being fairly innovative, but aiming with analog controllers is retardedly clumsy and inaccurate.
