Cheer's was a low class Rick's. Your feet would also stick to the floor.

This could be it's own thread, but did anyone ever go to the Landing on any day besides Sunday? I want to say there was a Thursday crowd that went, but Thursday nights were primarily for getting to Flo's as early as you could.

    Cheer's was a low class Rick's - so true

Sometimes Thursdays were road trip days. First head to the refuge. Then to the landing when it got dark. Then to Flo's to shut it down. Drink all weekend and sober up at the Landing on Sunday. Take a 6 pack in a bag of ice home with you.

I didn't go there much in the fake id days. It was a grad student's happy hour bar of choice.

I can barely remember because they did a 4 for 1 special one night each week and it caused memory loss. Whatever it was, it was short lived.

Basically for me it was Flos as the bread and butter (Wed/Fri/Sat), Landing on Sundays and the occasional Thursday, Ricks when it was time to go slumming and the random trip to Dave's, and some Thursday nights at the Hunt Club right when it opened. It really is amazing how far the town has come since 2000.

Edited to add the occasional Wednesday night at Classix in Columbus.

Sunday nights at the Landing were always top notch.

Twothings about the Landing were they had 50 pool tables and you could buy a 6-pack of Neutral Lite for 4$ and came completely iced down in a plastic ice bag for easy travel.

I think you could have a bar and grill or rib shack or catfish place or italian eatery there as long as you fix it up and market it right. There are enough young professionals and adults down s. montgomery to support that place.
Have a band on the weekends and local guitarists weeknights.

The biggest waste of a goldmine right now is State Theatre. There should be a band in there every night of the week. Not your local bands. Get some up and comers in, let your locals open.

oh, and Richey's is now England Dan's.

I'm going to say in general: Crown & Coke, mixed in two gameday cups, just before kickoff of a frosty November/December/January football game.

or, for ONE particular moment in time I would do again: Ice cold barley pop on our trailer under the scoreboard at the Dude, during a Regional final against FSU. Burke Masters made that my favorite beer ever.
